PIE WEEK

As part ofPARENTS IN EDUCATION” week we invite parents to visit the information videos and translated information sheets, developed through a Parent in Education grant in 2014, on our website under International Students.

The videos point out the many different ways parents can get involved in the programs at Colonel Light Gardens Primary and how your involvement is valued by students and the school. The videos make great viewing for all parents and there are also Japanese and Korean language versions.

The parent information sheets cover assessment, camps and excursions as well as parental involvement. These are available in English, Korean, Japanese, Hindi and Indonesian.

We invite all parents to visit our website at  http://www.colgrdnsps.sa.edu.au  and view these resources.

Canteen Survey

Starting At Colonel Light Gardens Primary School

Training for Parent Volunteers

As part of our Child Protection procedures parents and others who volunteer in schools need to have a current DSCI Child Related Screening check and also have received training in responding to abuse and neglect, known as the RAN training.

Colonel Light Gardens Primary ran several RAN training for volunteers workshops earlier in the year and are now offering a second workshop, for those parents who haven’t yet been able to attend. The training takes no more than an hour and parents can choose the time that suits them best. Please rsvp to dl.0723.info@schools.sa.edu.au stating your name and the session you wish to attend, so we can make sure we have adequate materials.

RAN Training for Volunteers will be held on:

Wednesday 14th October at 9:15am in the staffroom

Thursday 15th October at 5:15pm in the staffroom

Tuesday 20th October at 7:30am in the Doolette art room
