Save your empty bread bags please

A favourite activity during lunch is to use some tongs and fill up an empty bag with rubbish blowing around the school! It’s such a favorite that we have totally run out of collection bags. When you empty your bread bags, please tip out all the crumbs, turn the bag inside out (this stops the awful yeasty smell if stray crumbs remain) and send the bags to school with your child. Ask your children to bring the bags upstairs to Mrs Guest’s office where there is a big black tub waiting for the empty bags.

Many thanks!

Dismissal Time Tomorrow

Dismissal time.
Apparently the Parent Handbook says that dismissal time tomorrow (Easter Thursday) is at 2:10. This must have been wishful thinking, because it is not correct! Dismissal is at the normal time of 3:10.
Enterprise Day.
Every year the adult feedback about Enterprise Day is that there is not enough savoury lunch food. For this to happen we need parent help, as the day is student run and food handling and safety requirements mean that students are not able to do this unaided.
We have some great ideas for providing food, but need help from adults to make it happen. If you are able to spend an hour or two on April 14th helping serve food please contact me.
The Sports Committee will be running a BBQ.

Apple Product Charger Swap

If you have any ipad/iphone/mac chargers that need to be changed over with the recall, I will be at the front office on Monday morning 21/3/16 8.15 til 8.50am.  You will need to bring your old charger (only the part that has the prongs that actually goes into the powerpoint) with you before I can give you a replacement. Students are welcome to make the swap for parents if parents can’t make it in themselves.

There will be a chance for you to swap your chargers on late night parent teacher interviews on Tuesday 29th March – I’ll be in the lower mortlock corridor, in my office opposite the lift for anyone who wants to swap their chargers 6-7pm

There will be an afternoon swap time on Monday 11th April, front office verandah 3-3.30pm

Channel 7 News comes to CLG!

This week, a Channel 7 news team attended the school and interviewed several children from different year levels about our film “Our World War One: Remembering Mitcham Camp”. A few snippets  of  the film will also be shown.  The news item will probably go to air during the Sunday news bulletin.

To book your free tickets to take your family to a screening of the film, go to  https://clgps-film.eventbrite.com.au

Did you miss the “8+2 parenting” workshop on February 25th?

Many thanks to our Behaviour Coach, Mat Haslett, for allowing us to record the workshop he ran on “8+2 parenting” at school on 25th February.

I’ve uploaded it to youtube and it can be viewed here https://youtu.be/2FFVni9k_nw

It’s hard to hear the audience questions at the end of the workshop so I’ve transcribed them onto slides
