2013 Entertainment Book – available now!!!

Entertainment Books are a major fundraiser for our school, with $13 from the sale of each book going directly to us. At $65 each, they are great value, containing hundreds of offers for the whole family.

This year, rather than sending an Entertainment Book home to each family, they can be ordered either online at https://www.entertainmentbook.com.au/orderbooks/167k438, or by using the order form sent home yesterday (extras available from the front office).

All funds raised this year will be used to purchase iPads for use in classrooms. Our aim is to purchase two iPads for each classroom by the end of Term 4.

This year we are running a couple of competitions.

The CLASS which sells the most Entertainment Books will be the first class to have their own iPads, to keep for the rest of the year!

The individual STUDENT who sells the highest number of books will win an iPod Shuffle.

So ask family and friends, and get on board!!

Grounds and Environment Committee meeting

There will be a  Grounds & Environment Committee meeting in the Staff Room tomorrow morning (Tues 9th April) after drop off.

Would you like to attend?

We’ll be discussing the working bee we just had on Sunday, and ideas for the Term 2 working bee. People are welcome to attend, especially if they have ideas or issues they want to raise concerning the school grounds/environment. We hope to see you then!

Term 1, 2013 Working Bee

THIS SUNDAY APRIL 7th

12:00noon until 4:00pm

Each term at Colonel Light Gardens Primary School we have a working bee. This is an opportunity for students, friends and families of the school to come along and spend an hour or more working on a specific project on the school grounds, weeding, pruning, sweeping or simply picking up rubbish. Working together with our Groundsman, we can contribute to the school by helping to keep the grounds and environment of the school healthy and tidy.

The main jobs for the Term 1 Working Bee are:

*Clear drains ready for winter

*Remove dead plants

*Locate and map irrigation points and do any repairs if possible

* Clean up grounds ready for Enterprise Day, eg verandas, bike sheds, paths, windows and the kitchen in Langley Hall.

*Remove and relocate some larg agapanthus from local house

*Repairs to Trevor the Scarecrow, and maitenance of the raise garden beds.

There will be members of the Grounds and Environment Committee on hand to help direct you to a job. Just BYO gardening equipemnt and we’ll see you there!
