Some important reminders: Casual Day, Lighting Up the Arts and Pupil-Free days.

Lighting Up the Arts tickets go on sale at the finance window next Monday, June 2nd from 8:30-10:30am and 2:30 to 3:30pm.

Casual Day is this Friday, May 30th. Make a gold coin donation and come to school in casual clothes!

Don’t forget next Thursday and Friday, June 5th and 6th are pupil-free staff training days.

Thank you to all the families who supported the Book Fair. It was a great success.

Parvovirus B19 Infection (Fifth disease or slapped Face)

There is one confirmed case of slapped face at school.

Infection caused by parvovirus B19 generally causes only a mild illness. However if a pregnant woman is infected, the infection may be transmitted to the foetus.  A pregnant woman who has had exposure to the virus should seek the advice of the doctor managing her pregnancy.

Spread of infection is by direct or indirect connection with airbourne droplets from coughing or sneezing..

Incubation period is 4-14 days though may be up to 20 days.  Once a rash appears, the sufferer is no longer infectious.

URGENT REMINDER to all parents of current Year 7 students

A reminder to all parents of current Year 7 students – all ‘Enrolment Forms for Year 8’ – Forms must be returned by Wednesday 21st May. Irrespective of whether your child is going to private schooling, interstate, overseas etc these forms need to be returned with this information. It is vitally important that we stick to this timeline. Thanks in anticipation of your attendance to this matter. If you are applying for enrolment into an ‘out of school zone’ public high school, you must write a supporting letter addressing the 4 criteria listed on the top of page 2 of ED 176. This must be attached to the application form. Also, if parents are seeking a sibling right enrolment to an ‘out of school zone’ application, you must attach a copy of the older sibling’s current Student Photo ID to the application. If your child has been accepted to a particular school, please make sure you tick the corresponding box.

There has been one confirmed case of Measles in the Reception cohort at CLG.

Measles is highly contagious.

Mother’s Day Stalls and Lighting Up The Arts News

It seems that notes are taking longer to get home than we anticipate!

Mother’s Day Stall for Rooms 3, 8, 9 and 21 only TOMORROW, Friday May 2nd. All gifts $5.

Mother’s Day Stall for all other classes will be next Thursday, May 8th.

Lighting Up The Arts soloist and assisting artists auditions are currently being held, this week and next week. This is only for polished performances of quality. Interested Year 3-7 students should see Ms Woodlands to book an audition.

Compere auditions will be held on Monday May 12th. Interested Year 6 & 7 students should see Mrs Woollard.
