**Year 7 parents** ED 176 forms due back BY FRI 26/05 (this week)

A reminder to all parents of current Year 7 students – all ‘Enrolment Forms for Year 8’ – forms must be returned by Friday May 26th (end of week 4, term 2) and will then be collated and submitted to DECD. Irrespective of whether your child is going to private schooling, interstate, overseas etc these forms need to be returned with this information. It is vitally important that we stick to this timeline. Thanks in anticipation of your attendance to this matter.

Also, if parents are seeking a sibling right enrolment to an ‘out of school zone’ application, you must attach a copy of the older sibling’s current Student Photo ID to the application. If your child has been accepted to a particular school, please make sure you tick the corresponding box.

Just checking…. are any forms required for students leaving CLG in Year 6 to start private schooling in Year 7?

No Mandy, Year 6s have no forms to complete. However, we would always like to be aware of any students leaving the school to help with future planning. Thanks.

Hi, looking at the instructions in the booklet, the request for supporting evidence to be attached applies to the criteria, ‘ compelling or unusual reasons’. The form has space for reasons for the other criteria for ‘out of zone’ applications. It also states ‘ To be allocated points it is important you provide reasons as well as select the category on your ‘registration of interest for placement in year 8′ form’. There is no mention of writing a supporting letter. Just wondering? Cheers.

Hi Kate, after re-reading the booklet and forms, I agree. It only asks for supporting evidence for special consideration under the criteria of “Compelling or unusual reasons which prohibits attending your local school”. Each of the other criteria have space for reasons to explain the choice of that criteria in seeking ‘allocation points’. Therefore, if you are not ticking the last criteria, I don’t see a requirement for writing a supporting letter.
