Monthly Archives: April 2015

For all school volunteers, sports coaches etc.

To volunteer in a DECD school you are required to have:

  • A DCSI Screening Check
  • Training in Responding to Abuse and Neglect
  • Volunteer Induction.

In Term 1 we ran a training session which included Responding to Abuse and Neglect and a Volunteer Induction. Unfortunately only 35 people were able to attend, probably not realising that it was a requirement.

We are now offering the course again, at four different times and dates:

Monday May 11th at 6:30pm in the Staff Room

Wednesday May 13th 7:30am OR 9:10am OR 2:20pm, all in the Doolette Art Room

The course will take no longer than 40 minutes.

Visit from the Adelaide Crows and photo permission

Tomorrow afternoon (Tuesday April 28th) players from the Adelaide Crows will be visiting our school to run footy clinics and promote the Auskick program.

We will have an assembly from 2:00 to 2:15, followed by a coaching clinic for two lucky classes before all our school footy teams have a coaching session after school.

The Crows will be taking photos and videos to use in promotional material.  At the Assembly, students who do not have the generic school photo permission will be seated where they cannot be filmed.

The school permission form does not cover out-of-school promotional material so parents who do not wish their child to be filmed or photographed at the after school football team practice must phone or email the school before 1:30pm tomorrow to let us know.

Soccer Boot Swap/Sale

Parents/carers are invited to bring footy boots that have been outgrown or are no longer needed to a BOOT SWAP/SALE on Thursday 30th April (this Thursday) immediately after school.

Tables will be set up outside of the School Library and you are invited to come along and trade!

Entertainment Books are available as a Book (with a Gold Card and Vouchers) or as a Digital Membership that puts all the offers on your smartphone to redeem at the touch of a button.

* EARLY BIRD OFFER – Pre-order yours by Monday 27th April (first day of Term 2) and you will receive $150 in Early Bird Offers that you can use straight away!

So you can see what is in the Entertainment Book, we are sending one home with your child on 1st May.  If you do not need a Book sent home, please complete the tear off portion on the bottom of the Order Form and return to the Front Office by 9th April.

Thank you for your support.

NOT a Dress-Up Day on Thursday

Hello parents,

Some children were a little confused by a discussion that was held at SRC about a Dress-Up Day this Thursday. It was decided NOT to go ahead because the event was too close to Enterprise Day and the Family Picnic. Save the costume idea, the Dress Up Day will be held at a later date and you will be given plenty of notice.
