Hi families,

Next Wednesday, we are placing the order for t-shirts for the children’s performances in Lighting Up The Arts.  If your child is NOT going to attending the evening due to family holiday etc, please notify your child’s teacher in writing or by email IMMEDIATELY.  For each child who is performing in LUTA, we will be invoicing each family for the cost of the t-shirts soon.

Thanks

SAPSASA Cross Country selections for District Day Thursday 9th of June

On Friday I took 40 students to the SAPSASA Cross Country trials held at Belair National Park. Seven of our students have been selected to participate in the SAPSASA District Cross Country event at Oakbank on Thursday 9th of June. Congratulations to Marielle B, Abby K, Oscar C, Mitchell O, Finn W, Asha D-G and Jed O.

We were extremely successful with placements with 13 students in the top 7-16 and a further 3 who came in before the 25th mark. All participants did their personal best. A big thank you to Hal M who marshalled on the day, and to the many parents who came to watch.

BOGAN BINGO is to be one of our biggest fundraisers for the year

We are NOT having Lap-a-thon (where we would raise $11k), due to skip-a-thon Heart Foundation fundraiser, we are NOT having a Quiz Night (every 2nd year, would raise $8k). For us to reach our goal of $20k we are needing to do this event, a new event, so you wouldn’t be tired of the same old events year in and out. A deposit has been paid, over $500, and we will lose this money off our fundraising we have already done, if tickets are not sold. Come support this great night of laughs. Tickets available in the morning. I, Kelly G will walk around Friday afternoon selling tickets. Tickets are $25. Please don’t leave it to the last minute to buy tickets.Bring a big group of friends and take up a whole table, Only a few of you that’s ok, sit together on the long bingo tables.

We have some great prizes to be won. We really don’t want to cancel the night.

Year 7-8 Transition reminder – Forms due back WEDNESDAY 25-05-16

A reminder to all parents of current Year 7 students – all ‘Enrolment Forms for Year 8’ – Forms must be returned by Wednesday 25th May. Irrespective of whether your child is going to private schooling, interstate, overseas etc these forms need to be returned with this information. It is vitally important that we stick to this timeline. Thanks in anticipation of your attendance to this matter.

If you are applying for enrolment into an ‘out of school zone’ public high school, you must write a supporting letter addressing the 4 criteria listed on the top of page 2 of ED 176. This must be attached to the application form.  For more information on out of zone criteria, please click on the link below

DECD-Out-of-zone-criteria-for-allocation-of-points-2016

Also, if parents are seeking a sibling right enrolment to an ‘out of school zone’ application, you must attach a copy of the older sibling’s current Student Photo ID to the application.

If your child has been accepted to a particular school, please make sure you tick the corresponding box.

The concept of Bogan Bingo is quite simple. It’s a themed                                                            game night with the performers interacting directly with                                                            the participants. Over the course of the night two rounds                                                     bingo are played with themed prizes on offer.

It is a very entertaining night out in a relaxed and friendly
atmosphere!!
So what are you waiting for – don’t miss out!

Goodbye and Thank You

It is with very mixed feelings that I farewell CLGPS on my last day as Principal.

I am excited about creating the next phase of my life and look forward to a slower pace. However, I am very sad to leave the people that work so well together, to create the strong sense of community that makes CLGPS such a special place.

I thank you all for your support over the last four years and your kind wishes for the future.

I have made sure that Mr Rick Bennallack, our new Principal, knows just how lucky he is to be working in the CLG community!

Thank you and best wishes                                                                                                                       Sue Woollard

Short Sleeve Polo’s

Due to unforseen circumstances, the Supplier has again changed the delivery date of our well overdue stock. They have said the delivery of our polo t-shirts will be Wednesday 18th May. We apologise for the delay, keep your fingers and toes crossed they arrive next week 🙂

Once we receive the delivery, back orders will be filled, and hopefully sent to classrooms on Monday 23rd May. Thank you for your understanding in this frustrating time.
